Scrubber system washing water discharge prohibition in Turkish territorial waters
The Turkish Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation has with immediate effect prohibited the discharge of scrubber system washing water discharge (open loop operation) within Turkish territorial waters.
Therefore, vessels trading within Turkish territorial waters need to operate the scrubber system with closed loop mode, alternatively operate without scrubber system and consume bunkers with maximum 0.5% Sulphur content.
