Due to increased piracy activity along the West African coastline, we hereby give notice of cancellation with effect from 00:01 hrs G.M.T. 28th September 2020 in order to revise the Areas of Perceived Enhanced Risk to come into line with the JWC ‘Listed Areas’ dated the 21st September 2020, a copy of which is enclosed.
The following changes are incorporated in the new list as attached:
Amended: Gulf of Guinea
The waters enclosed by the following boundaries:
a) On the west, from the coast of Togo 6° 06′ 45″ N, 1°12′E, south to
b) high seas point 0° 40′ S, 3° 00′ E
c) and then east to Cape Lopez Peninsula, Gabon 0°40′S, 8° 42′E.
It is our intention to incorporate the new ‘Listed Areas’ into all of the war risk policies where we are Leading Underwriter and the insurances will be automatically reinstated upon expiry of the notice as per the Navigation Limitations for Hull War, Strikes, Terrorism and Related Perils Endorsement (JW2005/001A) and the Hull War, Strikes, Terrorism and Related Perils Notice of Cancellation Administration Clause (JW2005/001B).
In line with the notice provision within JW2005/001A, the new listed areas will take effect on all war risk policies from 00:01hrs G.M.T. 8th October, 2020.
