Survivors' pension and funeral grant
Survivors’ pension, i.e. the surviving spouse’s pension, child’s pension and funeral assistance will be paid if the claim event has resulted in the injured person’s death.
The funeral assistance is paid to the estate of the deceased if the funeral costs have been paid from the assets of the estate of the deceased. Otherwise the funeral grant is paid to those in charge of the funeral expenses. If the funeral has not been held due to the fact that the person in question is still missing, the funeral grant is paid to the parties of the estate of the deceased.
Compensation can be paid from the employees’ group life insurance when an insured employee dies, leaving beneficiaries specified in the group life insurance terms and conditions. The beneficiaries are the employee’s spouse, children under 18 years of age and children between 18 and of age who are full-time students. The amount of the compensation depends on the age of the insured employee, the number of children entitled to the compensation and whether the death was caused by an accident.
Compensation claims are processed by the Employees’ Group Life Assurance Pool.
