Builders risk insurance offers specialized protection for vessels while they’re being built, repaired, or converted until delivery.
Builder’s Risk insurance provides all‑risk cover for vessels during construction, repair or conversion, offering protection from the start of the project until delivery. The insurance applies while the vessel is at the yard, during launch, and throughout sea trials, ensuring that damage to the vessel and associated project costs are covered throughout each phase of the build.
The cover can be arranged by the yard or the buyer and may include optional extensions such as towage, delay in delivery, non‑delivery and war risks. These additions allow the insurance programme to be adapted to the scope of the project and the contractual requirements between the parties involved.
